I bought this 32-40 set back #4 weight barrel of of eBay yesterday and it is coming with a couple of extra dovetails and some random holes. If anyone needs a dovetail I will send one along with a couple of holes for the price of shipping. Should fit in a flat rate box. 

First “Jack is headed to the nut house” gets first opportunity. If you need precise measurements too bad!

And I got it cheap!  I am sure it will be a match winner. I am not concerned about the bottom of the barrel but that filler on top is down right ugly. Looks like it was welded in.

I guess I missed the welded in filler in the ebay pictures.  I was to enamored with the hole in the threaded shank.  Must be a new thought on where vent holes should be!

That is part of the gas operated lever system. It does require a brass deflection modification that mounts to the tang sight screw holes. It is hinged to allow use of a breech seater.

I could use two of the dovetails and three of the holes but I could understand it if you don't want to break up a set.

I am hoping that the middle dovetail is in the right spot for the flat spring hanger. The other two are available.

I was having a hard time figuring out why all the holes on the bottom. One may be for the forend. I may make that a 4th dovetail. The easiest solution for top holes is to just paint them on.

I was hoping that I could have gotten that middle one, if you didn't want it. Someday I could be forced to change a barrel and if I had that and a couple of the screw holes, all I'd need to do the job is find a guy offering extractor cuts. And threads.

With the (patent pending) gas operated lever, the case ejects itself so there is no need for an extractor. No need for barrel threads either. Just grind the end of the barrel down on a belch grinder until it fits into the action and use a liberal amount of JB Weld to secure it in place.
