Who can make a repro Pope long seating rod?

I need to find someone who can make a reproduction Pope long seating rod.  Rifle is a Stevens52 in 38-55 with 34" barrel.  I have all the original Pope tools for it but no long rod.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

In the first couple hundred barrels Pope made at Hartford the vast majority were breech seating muzzleloaders, but going through my Hartford Pope books only one example on page 126 of Pope #111 shows a rod, and who knows if it's an original Pope, or something someone made to use?
I wouldn't have any idea what an original looks like, and for my Pope Ballard with false muzzle I just made up something similar to what ML rifles use out of a hickory dowel.

Snag a couple hickory ram rod blanks for a couple bucks from Track of the Wolf. After that cut to length, put a small palm knob and a stop ring on it (and a brass tip that conforms to the bullet nose) and you're done. It's what I did for mine.

Only fly in the ointment is making the bow shaped ramrod blanks straight. Best done with an alcohol lamp or heat gun and a bit of fussing and bending.

Don't dare make a tip for your ramrod that fits the tip of the bullet, leave the end of the ramrod square. It's very important that the bullet stays in place and doesn't come up when you pull the ramrod up. I had a friend who f**ked up a VERY VERY fine rifle that way! Be careful!!!  Tongue

For my Slug Gun, I grooved the sides of the tip, in 3 places and gave it a little twist, to keep it from doing that.
