I cut a deer liver in half and gave each beagle a half for dinner. Next morning they were both dead in the kennel. Never ate liver again…..and never will.

I am sorry for your loss.

I'd be willing to bet you dislike liver more than my neighbor.  I didn't think it possible.

Billions and billions of humans have eaten liver with no problem. Now two beagles are dead. My God, the humanity!

After giving it some thought, the two Beagles fought over the liver and killed each other. Dogs will kill for liver.

Sorry for your loss!

Liver is highly nutritious. The problem is its high in vitamin A. 3oz has over 4x the daily allowance. Vitamin A toxicity can be fatal.

Joe, you are mean. Here's a few things I found on deer liver: It's important to feed liver to dogs in moderation, as excessive consumption can lead to vitamin A toxicity. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the DNR recommend people do not eat liver harvested from deer within the advisory area.

In the last two weeks I have eaten liver three times, well sort of...

As a kid my grandparents used to really like the small canned potatoes for frying. I can't remember what they ate them with other than onions but I remembering liking them as well. Recently I noticed bottles of the potatoes in the market so I bought one. Figured I would fry them along with a couple of eggs cooked over-easy. The butcher counter had some nice looking "country style" liver wurst so I bought half of a ring. The country style is coarse, not like a paste and generally well seasoned and smoked. Got home, cut up the potatoes, threw them in a pan with some butter, sale and pepper and when that was ready I added in a big chunk of the liver wurst and cooked the eggs along side. Damn was it good. Ended up with the same dinner that night an a few days later I did a repeat. Probably need to do it again in the next day or two. I would have already done an encore but I marinated a 5lb chunk of beef over the past week for corned beef so I am sort of concentrated on that right now...
