.22 long in a No.2 Remington RB

I recently purchased a No.2 marked ".22" on the barrel.  From Roy's book, it appears to pre 1889.  Should I assume it's a .22 long?  If so, any issue firing .22 LR through it?
Mike.

If a .22 lr will go into it, it's safe to fire it.

I believe that if it’s chambered for .22 long, it will have 1 in 20 twist…long rifle barrel has a faster twist.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

A very strong action for any .22RF cartridge. As mentioned if it will accept a .22LR, i's fine to shoot it in the #2.
