Yes! So many fine single shots well scattered through the 431 pages. I went through page by page and thought it interesting that makers and models were seldom mentioned and then I got to the end and there was an index that listed them. There were so many high end rifles that lesser models had very low estimates. Check out the two Hubalek Ballards on pages 392 and 393 with estimates of 700/900. A nice 28-30 Ballard on page 96 and a Union Ballard on page 316 with lower estimates. Lots of Steven 44s and 44 1/2s. Many high walls that have been modernized at estimates that are lower than the value of their actions.

Okay, now I'm almost set for the auction.  All I have to do is convince the auction house to let me sign over my 401k to them and then explain it to my wife.  No problem  Grin

Consignor # 10724 (if you search that ) is the estate of Andy Zahornacky.   This will be the last of his rifles   and in the  online auction will be  his scopes   - a bunch of 2" Unertls.

Lots of good stuff for sure! Had to chuckle with their descriptions of Ballard #6 Schuetzens with "rare" non engraved receivers, when the auction contains at least 4 that are all plain non engraved receivers! Good to know my three with non engraved receivers are "rare"!

Do you have a link to his scopes?

Pope Ballard .22LR (as per auction house, was cut as .22short) went for $3000 + 17 and something surcharge.

I think there were 31 Ballards on that sale. The reworked 22s seemed to bring good money. Of course, two of them were built on engraved actions. The others either had issues or were on the rough side I thought.

I was beyond shocked by the end price on the Stevens-Pope barrel! Not only was it cut, but it was originally set up to use a set screw like a Stevens, but later modified for a cross pin. And after all that it got $3k??? plus 17%???
I've paid less for complete Pope Ballards than they got for that barrel!
