Super! Do you have an estimation of the hours spent in recreating this beauty? Research time included....
I didn’t keep tract of the time it took, not even casually. But, using photo time stamps, I started researching the gun in January of 22. Started working on the plastic prototype in Sept of 22 and mostly stayed with it until the parts to be engraved went to Diane for engraving in mid June of 23.
I only work in my shop in the afternoons for 3-6 hours each day usually 7 days per week. Looking back at the picture time stamps, the actual bulk of the work was done over a nine month time frame. So, at even the low 3 hours per day comes to over 800 hours, this includes drawing parts and working through the dozens of issues that crop up.
Research is usually done during my mornings, I’d guess at least 50-100 hours.
Then the final assembly, after getting back from the engraving, including all the last bits of tuning and the fitted gun case another 100 or so.
So, I would guess on the low side at over 1000 hours, but then I don’t work to speed, more to accurately do the work the first time, so I don’t need to redo things.
Thanks,
Bob
