	I'm not seeing a wiping rod on the Ballard and am not sure that it's an octagon barrel. Could it maybe be a heavy barrel Far West 1 3/4 Rifle?

	I can't make out any thimbles or a cleaning rod on the Ballard, either. My rich mans rifle

	If you look close at the Ballard, the thimbles are there. one just above his hand and one a few inches below the muzzle. They are reflecting the light in a way that makes them appear as white in the photo.

	I think Kootne may be correct as the forearm also appears to be shaped like the Pacific model.

	Ok, now I see the spots on the Ballard barrel. One thing for certain, I wouldn't want to have any one of those guys (or their dogs) mad at me.

	A good friend had a dog the spittin image of the one on the left. You for sure would not want him chasing you. His name was HD, short for Hell Dog.

	Looks like the Model 1885 in Reply#289 has a set trigger. Those boys didn't fool around.
