I am looking for a source for parts for # 4 Remington. Primarily a firing pin.

I may change my ID to "Firing Pin"

Is the tip broken or worn out? Is it just plain ol missing? I've fixed broken pins by drilling out the body and silver soldering in a new pin. If it's missing, then you've got the pattern to scratch build a new one if you can't find parts.
Hope this helps.

AK Mike

I recieved the rifle today.  The firing pin was in the block and I released the hammer on a fired case a couple of times and got good indentations. As I was cleaning the rifle I noticed the firing pin tip was gone. Now there is just a hole where the pin protruded from the block.

If the body is there then I'd build a fresh tip for it.
Have you got DeHaas's Gunsmith Idea book? I think it 's in there. OR there are some good 'smiths here.

Hello smoke810, try this web address and company (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links);
I've purchased parts from them and they are high quality. The above URL should take you to the remington single shot parts page and they list 22rf & 32rf firing pins. Smiley Smiley Smiley
Good luck with the #4, they are a fun small RB rifle's, Mike

I noticed that Numrich lists a firing pin for a # 4 for $20 + dollars plus shipping.  Isn't the pin held in the block with a drive pin?

James Wisner's pins list for $11.00 each, and his quality has been quite good over the years.  Personally, I would opt for his parts over anything from the other guys...

David

Thanks for the information.  I decided to just make a couple.  They seem to work just fine.

That's the spirit...simple parts can even be done on a 3/8" drill clamped to  a work table, and shaped with a file or two.  If you used drill rod, leave it annealed.  Same for La Salle Fatigue Proof steel.
