Marlin help

Can anyone suggest where I can find the guts to a Marlin 38-55 receiver. There is a bolt/screw that can be removed and the innards are released. It seems those parts are missing. The trigger and lever assemblies are all with the rifle. The rifle has a hex barrel and stamped into the receive is Patient 1895.

I checked with Track of the Wolf, and S&S Firearms who pointed out it is not a military weapon. Anybody else?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

You might try Dixie Gun Works and Numrich Arms / Gun Parts Corp (whichever name they are using now.)  Dixie specializes in old rifles and their repros, while GPC just specializes in all parts for guns.  I would suggest finding a schematic of the rifle in either the NRA Guide for rifle disassembly or the one from Gun Digest so you can actually see what you need and what it is called.  There may even be a good enough parts diagram in the GPC catalog if you're lucky.  Both companies have web pages.

Try going to (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links), and use the drop down menu to go to the "Used/Obsolete & Surplus Part Distributors" on the list.
