It's the powder that was used for 30 Carbine. Burn rate in the H110, 2400, AA#9 neighborhood depending on the lot. I have only used it in 218 Bee. Worked well.

I use 15.5 grains of it in 32-40 with a 218g bullet in a 14 twist barrel for 1530 fps. Single digit standard deviation and very accurate and clean shooting.

H108 was recycled military WC 820 carbine powder and is excellent in the .32 Miller and .32 RKS cases and is equivalent of AA #9, AA 4100, and MP300.

12.4 grains of WC820 in my .32 RKS would achieve 1,526 fps with a 236 grain Paul Jones spitzer.

Thanks DAVE..!

My next project is the 32 RKS.. I Have a Ron Smith (SR.) Gain twist (11.5) barrel... and two options for the donor action, either a spaghetti Hi Wall (dedicated) or on a switch CPA 44 1 1/2  .... Need a good gunsmith to profile the Stainless heavy blank to a more manageable octagon shape, chamber and fit....

Any suggestions from the members on how to best finish a stainless barrel to give it a more traditional (old) look. TIA

I still have to order the reamer. I'll ask Pacific if they have the drawing.

Dave thanks for the info..~!

100 yard accuracy (.452 group average  5 shots on five targets shot in 45 minutes) and 200 yard back to back perfect targets shot with Miller DeHaas chambered in .32 RKS with 12.4 grains WC 820 in RKS gain twist barrel finishing at 11.5:1 using a 236 grain Paul Jones spitzer seated so last band was fully engraved.

Picture of polished RKS octagon stainless steel barrel.

I have had three 1885 Winchesters and three CPAs.
Both good actions but I found the High Walls to be a bit more reliable than the CPA rifles (weaking springs and screws that would not stay tight and poorer straight bolt stock setup and could not free float barrel).

CPA is better switch barrel action.

Fifteen years ago, Dale53 and I were shooting a pair of Peregrines built by Charlie Dell in his 32/357, side by side at Beeson’s.  Both were shooting BR and breech seated.  He was using an old lot of WC 820 and I had H 108 in equal amounts with equal results.  It became obvious that these were actual equivalent (if not the same) powders.
For the record, the only 200 yd BR 250 target ever shot in competition in a Chinquapin event on the BMC range was by Ray Hoagland using some of the WC 820 he got from Dale.  His rifle was a CPA in their proprietary 32-20, breech seated.

Froggie,

Thought I would share "THE" "Target" that Ray shot with that spectacular CPA 32-20

BTW, Ray is a neighbor here in Saint Augustine., Great GUY

Bob

PS I've tried to reduce the size of the picture...
Got the pixel count down far enough to include it but the OD is problematic.
