Not sure if this is the correct forum, if not please move it. The title says it all. Are the Stevens model 44 and 44 1/2 stocks interchangeable.  Thanks

In general yes.

The hammer springs are different. So depending on which stock you are using on which action, you may have to remove wood. 

A 44 should clear the hammer spring of a 44 1/2. 
A 44 1/2 would need work to clear a 44.

The 44 action is slightly wider, so the fit at the rear of the action to stock May not be the best of they are original wood, replacement unfinished stocks should have enough wood to work with.

Butt plates should be fine, no different than if it was off another rifle.
