Have you ever seen the work The Stock Doctor does? I've seen repairs on his site of shattered stocks that looked perfect once he finished, and nobody could tell they were ever repaired. He's not revealing his methods, and his work isn't cheap; but if a gun stock is on a valuable rifle he's the best there is to fix it.

A buddy has one repaired by Stock Doc, it's 99.9% invisible.
