Fix for a sliding extractor 1873 Gustafs 12,7X44 R rolling block that doesn't always grab the case and lift it out. This has likely been covered oh, a hundred times before.

Only fix I know of Bill is to get another extractor, or take the one that doesn't quite work and have a good welder build up the end of the extractor to get a better grasp on the rim. Of course you'll need to shape the weld back down carefully until it fits and works properly. I prefer this method as another used extractor might not be any better.
Or for $20 you can buy a new casting from The Rifle Shoppe and fit it to your case rim.
