Looking for 90% stock
Apr 3rd, 2025 at 11:16am
Print Post
I am looking for a Stockmaker who can sell me a 90% finished stock for  Greener GP/EG shotgun action.  Their wood or mine.

This action is that large clunky shotgun action usually seen on the full stock guard 12/14 shotgun.

This is not the British military Martini Henry rifle, nor is it the small BSA Francotte target action sometimes referred to as a cadet action.

Reinhart  Fajen had them, but they are of course long gone. Wenig had them at one time but say that can't provide them now.

Treebone only has cadet and MH  size, not  Greener Shotgun.

Anyone have a suggestions for a stock maker who can provide this size stock

Try pecatonica long rifles and cpa rifles. They both list stocks for other breach loaders. Maybe one of them has the pattern.

Would this work for you?
It has a pistol grip and a cheek piece. The forearm has a small starter channel.

They need to be sized correctly or they don’t work.  Email them to yourself, and if asked, take the smaller size.  Save that to your photos and you should then be allowed to post it.

Well first I think I have located a stock or rather stocks.  Thank you ZiplocJoe-Ron.

Pecatonica long rifles appears to be all full length stocks for muzzleloaders.

I have talked to CPA Rifles in the not distant past and they said they can not help me.

Boyds no longer lists  anything Martini, even though some years ago I supplied them with a pattern stock for a large comercial order they had.  I suspect they returned the pattern to their customer, rather than retain it or return it to me.

Macon stock does list stocks for International and BSA Martini's.  I have not reached out to them to see if the might have what I need for larger Martini's

I have acquired stocks for the Big Greener Martini shotgun action in the past from Wenigs.  They say now they can not help me.  I suspect with them, they have the old patterns, but the old guys that ran the operation have long retired and the new guys aren't aware of what is sitting in the back room gathering dust.

Thank you everyone for your help, it is appreciated.

Ziplock Joe had a couple and I bought both.  One set is a 90% and the other is take-off GP Greener.  The GP set is what I need.

Why do you ask, do you need a set? I can help you.

I wish there was a new stockmaker--but it turned out okay for me and  ziplock.

I think some older long time stock-makers do have pattern stocks for these old guns.  The old guys who use run these operations and knew about these stock have long retired.  These company just they don't get much call for them any more and the new  young guys have no idea what they are.
