So I had this action that was a single shot 22 and made it into a 32 ACP. I used an old military take off barrel in 30-06 that looked to have good rifling. Used a 32 S&W chamber reamer with a .300 pilot. Had to make a new forward bolt to match the rim and made a Sako stile extractor. Main spring was a bit week and I got a new heavy duty one from Wolff springs.
For those that don't know about the action, it is a bolt with  6 locking lugs at the rear. Plenty strong enough for the application.

Mine was a -X, CMP version. I made an insert to serve as a loading tray, and I think the ejector?

Threaded the receiver and put a Lilja on it. Won a couple casual smallbore matches with it in a Gilkes-Ross stock. Bunch of work on the trigger as well, mainly a new piece to adapt an Anschutz shoe ... which is maybe where one of the pieces I've been looking for is ...

Lapped the bolt to the receiver, very few of the lugs were actually making contact. And did something to tighten up the connection with the bolt head just for fun.

A bunch of work, but compared to making a new bolt from scratch ...

Oh, I think this was the one where the pivot for the trigger was forward of the sear engagement, camming the firing pin back as you pulled it. Fixed that too.

Your friend Ed Harris had Andy in Oregon build a similar one years back.I donated the rifle and a takeoff 308 Remington barrel.
I envy the set up,so much plinking fun.

I did several builds for Ed. I think one of the 32 ACP was on an old small frame H&R which got several barrels as well as at least 5 barrels for a Beretta folding shotgun.
