New to me Pope smallbore

Added a 1917 Pope smallbore built on a Winchester Model 1885 highwall. It was advertised as .22lr, but found it is a .22 short... probably originally meant as a gallery gun. Finally got it to the range recently after mounting a Fecker scope and ordering some CCI shorts. Not terribly impressed by the vertically strung group sizes (.6" for 5 shots, 1.2" for 10 shots) at 50 yards, but not too bad shooting off a single bag outside in light winds. I blame the vertical stringing on the CCI ammo... that's my alibi, and I am sticking by it. Anyone have a line on some RWS R-25?!

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Really a nice looking Pope High Wall! Finding great .22 Short ammo isn't easy. I just shoot whatever I can find in my Zettler Bros. .22 Short Ballard.
