I am new to this forum, so please forgive me if this is a rehash of an old subject. I have the above rifle in 25-20SS caliber. The rifling is a sewer pipe. My original plan was to reline the barrel with a faster twist to the original caliber, because I wanted to shoot modern jacket bullets just for ease of reloading. 
I have been waiting for new cases from Rocky Mtn. Cartridge Co. since about March. I understsnd it is a slow process, and they have had production issues. I AM NOT bagging on them as things happen.
Aside from this cartridge, what other small bore calibers are suitable for this action? I had thought about a .22 Hiornet or K-Hornet. DeHass' book on Single Shot Rifles/Actions shows a few Hornets built on this action...or am I better off just going wit a .22 Mag. conversion? I do NOT want to rear this rifle up...I just wsnt to shoot it....a lot!

I have an original in 32-20 and one with a newer barrel in 25-20 Win. Brass is much easier to obtain.

Starline recently did a run of .32-20 brass from which .25-20 WCF can be made. If they have sold out you should be able to still find some in the "normal" channels, or beat the bushes for some. .32-20 brass isn't particularly hard to find.

A vintage Low Wall is a strong action, for what it is, but not intended for high(er) intensity cartridges such as one finds the new(er) Miroku LW's made with exceptional steel alloys chambered for.

.25-20 ss brass shows up for sale occasionally on this site. Once you have a few more posts you could place a want to buy brass post here also.

Attached chart has been shown several times before. It is based on cartridge thrust against the breech block.
Force = pressure multiplied times cartridge base area.
Any cartridge can be plotted if one knows the cartridge base diameter and maximum expected pressure.

If you want to do a reline I would try to find a 10 twist 25 cal and chamber for 25-20 Win.  It can be very accurate at 200 yds if you can read the wind. Like others said, but some 32-20 and run it through a 15-20 sizing die in several passes.

It is my understanding that all original low walls have about the same reaction geometry therefore about the same strength.
Modern low walls have modified this geometry and material to significantly increase the strength.
A low wall will seldom fail catastrophically, just batters or cracks the right receiver shoulder.

Thanks to everyone for their imput. I have solved my problem. I bought (200) 32-20Win. cases and dies yesterday from MidwayUSA...Any thoughts on 'smith to do the reline job and mount my scope base..?
