This has been on G.B. for awhile.  Seems like a fair price, $1,000 so why hasn't it sold. Thanks, David 🤔

Good question. The scope would be worth over half the price if it's in good shape. Is the bore listed as excellent, or something less?

Just looked at the item, and it is a shortened barrel, so that might be part of it. But the seller doesn't mention bore condition anywhere either. He talks about outside condition, but not bore. And he says they don't guarantee the optics, so no idea of scope condition for sure.

the barrel has been trimmed on a lathe 1/4th of an inch, and although the vendor claims the barrel is very good, the (fuzzy) picture of the inside shows not aprettu sight

What is the extra screw on the top right side of the receiver? None of my two 414 have it.

I'm pretty sure I've had that rifle on my watch list 3-4 times when the fun fund was flush.  When it came time to make the call whether to bid or pass, nothing in the description or pictures gave me a compelling reason to bid.

I can't put my finger on it, but something about it just feels "off" beyond the cut barrel (as noted).

Maybe I'm wrong, but the 2 samples I saw back in 1957 or 58 left the hammer at full cock when you closed the action and had a very heavy mainspring. Trigger pull was about 3 lbs, not easy to adjust.  I'd want to know about that before I bid.
