After 33 years finally done

In the late 80's early 90's I and my son shot a lot of Buffalo target matches, mostly at the Gopher HP range out to 1000 yds. So my son wanted his own gun so I built him one. It started as an Alex Henry casting from Pete Allen. I then heavily redesigned it and made it a Bar-in-Wood version. It is in a custom caliber called 40-444. My design. It is 40 cal as you suspect based on the 444 Marlin case. Well I completed it to the point that it needed to be blued and checkered. My son shot it hundreds and hundreds of times.
Well last summer I decided to blue it and while at it I asked my checkering lady to finish the stock. We also had Roger Sampson engrave lettering of the maker, caliber, and serial number.
Finally finished the project now and here it is.

Interesting gun and nice work…as usual!
