Hard to tell since it's rusty and crusty until it's cleaned up. I am doubtful it's a crack as it's just in an unusual location, and being a .22RF not sure how it could crack.

Certainly looks like one in my photo. Took a closer look this morning and it seems to be just the pattern of pitting across the frame, but will keep an eye on it as the project progresses.
