Trapdoor Springfield Barrel Line

Toying with building a Trapdoor sporting rifle.  I'm not a fan of the 45-70, so I'm thinking about lining the barrel in 40-65.  My question is, does anyone have experience in doing so, and what were the results?  Thanks in advance.

Should work just fine. The liner has the same OD as the 45-70 at 5/8"

Did the same thing with a #1 rolling block because 40-65 loads are generally under 25K pressure and that suits the #1 roller.  If your trapdoor is a 1873 model, that may be at the upper end of pressure since 20K is often cited as the max for the '73.  Later models are said to handle 25-28K, so the 40-65 should be OK. It shoots well, and is a bit easier on the shoulder.
