I have several stainless steel barrels that I want to have blued. The only source I have found so far is Finks Custom Gunsmithing. I have yet to contact them, I am curious if anyone on the forum has used them or has another source that they could recommend
SSS?

I think Dave Thomas in Kellogg, Idaho will do stainless.  He's the successor to Mel Doyle.

If you want to try it yourself, both JAX and Caswell, Inc. make stainless steel blackeners.  I have used the latter company's product and can recommend it.

I have tried to have a SS 416R barrel by Ron Smith blued but it would not take. I cant remember the solution tried. Some SS may be blueable but perhaps not all.

Let us know your results when you get it done.  I'm like to have some actual experience, have some projects I might want to do, I've been duracoating them.

I have a Highwall 40/65 that was built for BCPR. The barrel is from K&P in Raton, NM. It is stainless but "blackened". I bought it second hand.
