hit my limit on attachments so here are the last 2 pics. Rinsed from the tumbler and then out of the walnut hulls. Being such a small case, a little bigger than a 32-20 I don't think the ceramic moves around too much inside of the case but it does get the carbon out. A longer rum may make a difference am not sure. I do hope some find this information helpful or at least a bit interesting.

They are shallow round recesses in the bottom with a hole through them.........
I know, I’ll go stand in the idiot corner for a while............
I’m tired....

After a trip through the walnut hulls they don't look too bad, there is a little bit of staining/stuff in the bottom but not very much. The fact that they went in wet might have helped clean them out a bit I am not sure. I use the coarse untreated walnut shells I got at Harbor Freight. 25 pounds for about $30 or so depending on local tax. If I need a little more shine I put some super fine auto polish in the mix and really shine them up
I will see if I can get a good pic of the pockets tomorrow.

I went and dumped the cases out of the vibrator and picked 5 random cases out and took a pic of the primer pockets. The first 2 that I had were pretty clean. These 5 not quite s much but all in all not bad. I didnt expect the balls to clean the primer pockets but do know the angled ceramic that I usually use does. Its just harder to get out of the small cases.

I was never satisfied cleaning my brass just using a mix of set pins and stick ceramic media. It got the cases clean but never the build up in the primer pockets.
I needed to clean the carburetor in my house standby generator and the injectors for the tractor so I ordered a 10 liter ultrasonic cleaner. When that job was done I put some brass in to see what it would do to get the primer pockets cleaned out and I was amazed how well it cleaned the pockets and also the build up carbon inside the cases.
Now I clean the brass in the ultra sonic and use the Frankford Arsenal tumbler with 3mm ceramic balls for a 1/2 hr and they come out like new.
The important thing with these ultrasonic cleaners is getting the different modes.Multiple Cleaning Modes for an Extensive cleaning Range: Fullwave,Semiwave,Degas,Power Sweep Cleaning Modes based on 40KHz ultrasonic frequency make the device applicable for rough surface cleaning and intensive rinse. Generally, fullwave and power sweep cleaing modes are used for making intensive rinse, while semwave is used for rough surface cleaning.
I went for a higher priced than needed for brass because of the work I wanted to do on the engine parts. I can clean a couple hundred .44-90 bn cases in my 10 L unit in one load.
A good capacity cleaner will run $130. and up on Amazon.
