I find your short cheekpiece very interesting, Joe.  Is it meant to fit somebody else only by luck?

That's the way Mr Zischang made them.  CPA flubbed my blank so the cheek plate is a little smaller than normal.

Thanks for the follow-up, Joe.  It really is a beautiful rifle. (Lust, envy, and other sinful thoughts!)

By chance a friend at our long-range shoot this last weekend showed me a Borchardt project rifle he'd just purchased. It's still unfinished, but was fitted with a Douglas Premium full round heavy 32" barrel in .45-2.6" chamber, and had the buttstock fitted, but not finished.
Whoever did the military action conversion did a wonderful job on it, and machined it to be a panel side, but no fillers in yet. I was very infatuated with his new project, and hope he gets it completed soon so I can see it done!

I'd like to see it too, Vall. So, your next assignment, should you choose to accept it...  This post will self destruct in ten seconds.

Might end up self destructing Wes. He's in Indiana, so not sure when I'll get to see it again.

marlinguy, If he is a friend, perhaps you could ask if he could send, e-mail, text photographs that you could forward to Wes.

I'm sending him some new brass for his .45-2.6", so might sway him to take time from his busy shooting schedule to send me some pictures! Wink
