barrel sled for round barrel

I have a lightweight BSA Int. which I would like to use for Benchrest. I have three barrel sleds but each is cut for an octagon barrel. One is homemade  out of hardwood , and I have a Brass and one Steel barrel sled from Rod Storey.

I tried the home made hardwood one today and the hole for the barrel was a little too big. I had some thin rubber washers in my range box ( have no idea why they were there!) and they seemed to work OK but I really could not get it as tight as I wanted, it was very easy for the rifle to twist.
What can I use to adapt the barrel sleds to a round barrel which will provide enough friction to keep the barrel from twisting?
Thanks!

Joe,
You could glass bed the wood sled to fit snugly- I suggest probably at the null point on the barrel.
, Then apply rosin to resist rotation on the round barrel.
Or even two sided sticky tape might work well

I use a thick garment leather, vs belt or saddle leather.

I use the rubber end off of a cane. The rubber is thick and with a razor I cut the end off and slit it length wise.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

You could also use some rubber heater hose like on cars. Buy a chunk of 3/4" and cut a section off and split it to allow it to be whatever size fits around your barrel. It's about 3/16" thick, so should easily be able to conform and tighten snugly in your sled.

I know it's not answering the question but I also had a lighter weight martini International mk4 and the forend is rather wide and it sits on the bags wonderfully.

I have been thinking of casting some of these things out of brass. What size are folks interested in?
