Thanks Joe….I’m drooling!  I suppose they are all for sale?

All three have the sliding extractor.

I sent a question to the GB seller who has the fake #7 Remington at auction, asking why if it's a real #7 does it not have a sliding extractor, and why the tang sight isn't correct, and no Remington markings on the barrel?
Didn't get a response, but soon after the seller posted this addition to his auction:

"We are unsure of the model. It has characteristics of a model 7  but please observe the pictures carefully. It's obviously a custom rifle but we're unsure of the original model"

So seems the cat's out of the bag, and he's admitted it isn't real.

At $1525 now.  It will be interesting to see if it continues to go up now that he has updated the auction.

As of yesterday evening the rifle was at $1950.  So being more "truthful" certainly doesn't seem to have hurt.

It appears there are less bids than before, so some have retracted their bids. But it's been two guys for sometime now still going back and forth.
But $1950 is still not much money considering what a real #7 goes for. So maybe those two don't care that it's a fake?

Or maybe they just think it's interesting and have the play money to chase it?

I had it on my watch list before this thread came up simply because I thought it was neat.  I didn't know anything about the No 7 but old .22s are one of my many weaknesses so I kept an eye on it with the idea I might be able to grab it for short money.  Which obviously didn't happen...  Smiley

Does anyone know the rest of the story? What did it end up going for? The only real ones I have ever seen were at a gunshow in Sioux Falls SD about 10 years ago. A dealer brought about a dozen along for another dealer to pick up. Most had been modified with Pope barrels. Don't think there was an all original one in the bunch. Still interesting to look at.

I think it ended up closing at the $1950 bid.
