I guess I've just been lucky with my barrels. No break in routine. A little load development (very little) and then start shooting at matches. Never had any problems with leading or finding the right load combination.

Dumb luck, or maybe following the advise of others smarter than me? Read my signature line. Cheesy

I'm not a complete idiot, some of my parts are missing.

Makes me think of my 32-20 barrel - a Lothar Walther .308 12-twist.

I had quite a bit of work finding a good load, it needed quite an elaborate wiping routine to perform.  This in contrast to the previous barrel on the rifle, which didn't really mind what you did.

Recently it started to shoot less accurately, turned out I had to change my wiping routine - from 2 wet and 2 dry to just 1 moist patch.  I did give it a thorough cleaning with Bore Tech Chameleon gel, but it is true the bore does feel 'smoother' now than in the beginning.

This of course with BP
