Value?

More of a curiosity question….what is the current value of a very nice 44 1/2 action? Debating that vs. a new CPA action as I have (5) barrels already fit to my 44 1/2. It would then be a matter of dedicating a couple barrels to the new 44 1/2 action, losing at most 1/16” to re-time.

I would say fairly comparable to a CPA action, give or take a few bucks.

Get a CPA and then add more barrels! I have 4 for my 44 1/2 and 3 for my CPA.

Last time I checked a CPA action was around $1400.00 but it has also awhile. One of the advantages to the CPA is it is warranted for life, parts are readily available and they are also replaced at no cost to you.
I actually bought mine used back in 1998 and so not the original owner but it still has that same lifetime warranty and no cost on any replacement parts. But they are also not typically needed and I have only had to replace one hammer spring, the front trigger return spring and a sear spring. Prior to the firing pin upgrades also a few firing pins and not a one since and all came at no cost to me.

John, CPA's current ad lists actions available for the bargain price of $1200.

Wow that is actually more than reasonable by far.
