Yes, a year or two before he died.

Thanks again.
He was not interested in competing and he used to send me pictures of some very outstanding 32-40 breech seating groups that he was shooting. We used to share allot of data back during that time. It is maybe just something that allot of folks did not know about him and his amazing shooting abilities.

Dellet not knowing if you or others might be interested below is but one of those targets that he shared with me.
And I do miss him dearly and the rest speaks for itself and his absolutely outstanding shooting abilities. Most folks knew him as a collector so I wanted to share another side of him and maybe unknown to some.

Hopefully they found it Funny.
Everyone knows my name while others hide behind an Alias and are not Man enough to let others know who they are when they start Shit.
And then they get Pissed if someone pushes back as if they are some kind of a Forum Tuff guy and a hero.
I did not donate to help get this site started to make friends.
But to help others to be able to succeed as much as I was able and was dedicated to doing so.

I've shot my Stevens 56 in .22 silhouette matches.  It's not the same competition but the same idea: of shooting an antique single-shot against modern guns.  I used a 10X Targetspot Jr scope too.  Did OK, about the same as my Winchester 52 with an 18X Unertl, the most modern rifle I shoot (pre-A type, 1930s).

Somebody's got to show them the history.

Never gets old seeing good shooting, and always a big plus to have data attached to a great target.

Also can’t help but notice he was using pistol primers

Glenn,

That's they type of match I would like to shoot.  Unfortunately, no one here organises something like that - and yours is a bit far to come over, never mind COVID...

We can set you up with a competitive rifle and all the trimmings if you make it over.

As for being competitive, I shot a 30-shot match at 200yd in Oct. Winner shot a 298/30. My 293/300 was "out of the money". The conditions were about as good as one could ask for wind-wise. The one puff we had while I was firing resulted in a 7 on the 600yd target. I waited about 10-15 seconds after the puff went away, but that was not enough. Should have waited 30.

These folks are very competitive and the chances of winning are really not at all that great for the average shooter.
I shot NRA Smallbore Sillouetts for four years in the Hunter class. Where any off the shelf rifle can be used and not altered with the exception of the trigger pull. This is a class where everyone does have a real fair chance of winning a match. I shot an Anchutz Model 164 with a 24X Leupold Target scope. It is an extremely fun match to shoot. The ammo at the time was the inexpensive Winchester T-22 and always more than good enough to use. As well as being very inexpensive to get into and to also shoot.
