Jlouis, you have a lot to offer, but it comes with a cost that many are not willing to pay. That’s too bad. I really don’t have a problem and when you admit you are wrong, I’ll admit to being an ass.
It’s not rocket science to figure out that most of Popes barrels were not destined for the bench. He made somewhere around 8000, I believe. The bench rest market was too small to pay the bills. No doubt many of his barrels went to top competition shooters, but even in that arena the market was fairly small. As a business person he has to go where the money was. That does not in any way take away from his accomplishments, but it is certainly no reason to canonize him or elevate those achievements past what they actually were.
Quote: Chicken's were three shots for a Dollar and Turkey's were three shots for five. Everyone who shot my rifle would easily go home with all four and most with only having to buy but one ticket.
No matter how you want to spin it, that says four birds going home on one ticket.
You love to nit pick everyone else, why the double standard and anger towards me? I’m not angry with you just curious as to the double standards and shifting goal posts.
As for my comment to Westerner, I think he understood my meaning, if you needed further explanation all you had to do was ask, and would have given you the above clarification. If Westerner has a problem with the way I delivered it. He’s welcome to slap me upside the head and make me buy breakfast the next time I see him.
As for doing my own research, I can verify that Fecker never worked for Sidle.
Rimfire distances for benchrest are generally standardized at 50 yards unless otherwise noted. I made sure that you knew it was not 200 as that was the distance being discussed. Sorry that confused you. I was just trying to get you out to have some fun, challenge removed.
Lighten up.
