That fire was just incredible with 100 plus mile an hour winds driving it made it unstoppable. It is flat a miracle that everyone seems to have escaped it. The houses were just incinerated. Usually a house fire leaves charred wood standing - this one, nothing but ashes in the basement. Today starts the second go round. The fires are covered by 8 plus inches of snow but it was 4 degrees this morning and the fire areas either have no electricity or the gas has been shut off so houses undamaged by the fire will probably have their water lines frozen and busted for those now lacking central heating. Those that have electricity may get by if they have enough space heaters. Those with gas but no electricity may get by if they have gas log fireplaces. At least they have hope. The owners of the houses that burned have absolutely nothing but the clothes on their backs and some things they shoved in their cars. One guy loaded everything important in his car but the electricity was out and he didn't know how to open the garage door so he walked out and the only thing left of his house was a burned out car where his garage used to be. So sad. Everyone think about what is really important in your house besides yourselves - what can never be replaced? It will be even colder tonight. Please pray for those thousands of people affected.
