	Out cruising this morning in my 1948 Willys CJ2A. I decided to throw the Remington split breech carbine in the rack and a handful of my shop made .56-50 rimfire cartridges in my pocket. I didn't realize how nicely the split breech fit in the jeep - like they were made for each other Its a nice handy carbine.

	Love the Civil Defense stickers! The Willys is dandy, and a tip o' the hat for the careful work which obviously went into your "rimfire" ammo!

	That one is just too pretty. Back in the early 60s I had a 43 Ford jeep still GI stock except for the color.

	Thanks guys. The old jeep has its share if bondo, dents and scratches. But it runs well and is a lot of fun. Now that I've cracked the code on making .56-50 rimfire, the split breech has become a really fun and accurate rifle. The limitations are mostly my aging eyes and the short radius barrel sights. 	Vintage jeep, with a winch that looks like it could pull the gates off hades and a big honking light to see where to hook the winch and I see a lake and woods in the background and a vintage rifle that was brought back to life. Irealized I want to be like you when I grow up! LOL Honestly, all first class. Bob

	Thanks guys. The lake is in front of my house. The winch is rated at 6000lb. Its a hand crank derrick winch I found and restored a few years ago. It is quite powerful. Here is a before and after.

	HaHa - yes, only someone with an old jeep knows the pain of filling the master cylinder. Mine has a modification to make it a little easier to access.

	Reminds me of filling the master cylinder in some models of a Cushman Truckster. Nice Jeep and rifle!

	Lets not discuss where the parking brake lurks. I had just taken my driving test in the '43 jeep and had taken a friend to Miami Beach Auditorium to buy tickets for the Miss America pageant. Forgot to take the brake off and it ignited all the old grease down there (for you young folks, the parking brake was a band around the drive shaft by the transfer case) and a man came running out of the auditorium with a fire extinguisher and put it out. Whoops!
