Curly, in 1967 I felt a little flush and bought a little Cadet just like you have. I was going to send it to Atkinson and Marquart and have them rebarrel it to .17 improved Bee. I still have the letter.

.17 caliber sporting barrel. $65
Fit to customers BSA action, chamber for suitable cartridge, headspace, fit extractor,  test fire $35
Bush breech-block for high-pressure cartridge $12.50

My how times have changed. I just bought a rifle barrel about 2 weeks ago and it cost me $404 plus shipping.

I never sent the Cadet to A&M and ended up selling it and bought a Sako barreled action in .223 for a $106.50 along with a nice Fajen stock for $30. It was my 2nd attempt at building a rifle and I still have that rifle today.

Not a BSA, but you might enjoy this small German. Just over 5 lbs.

I Love my little Swiss Hämmerli and Hausch .22.Very light and nimble like a BSA.

Attached is a photo of a Buchel Martini.
It is a lightweight rifle chambered for the 8.15X46R cartridge but is neither a BSA or a Martini.
It is a rotating block rifle but has none of the Martini patent features. It uses a striker action located behind the rotating block.
