	I believe there are some states that allow percussion Sharps rifles to be used during their "Muzzle Loading" season. Does anyone have a list of those states or anything related to the rational of allowing their use? SS

	I'm sure any state that allows modern inline ML rifles will allow the Sharps. Here in Oregon they can only be used during regular rifle season. Official ML season is only traditional ML allowed.

	Don't think any breech loader is allowed in Colorado ML season. Don't know about some of the new gimmicks. Chuck

	Chuckster what part of Colorado do you hunt in. Myself and my uncle hunted at Slater Creek for several years and always in the third season opening day was the first Saturday in Nov. at the time. Below is a partial picture of the elk across from camp and it actually took three pictures to make a panoramic picture of the entire group. Location is Long Mountain and on the Duncan ranch. Also was able to hunt at Bible Mountain for a couple of years. (You need to *Login* or *Register* to view media files and links)

Unfortunately not the Sharps Not here. Oregon is extremely strict on their ML season. All sorts of things not allowed during Traditional ML season. Even scopes are illegal. Only iron sights allowed. Flint or percussion only. No enclosed priming systems. But anyone wanting to use all that can, if they use it during regular rifle season.

	Lee that makes absolutely no sense. The inline should be disallowed and all the other three allowed. Must be hiring very unqualified folks to make these types of regulations up.

	I believe Calif. is the same as Oregon In Lines can only be used in the rifle season. The problem with the Traditional's is no lead bullets can be used for any type of hunting through out the entire state or any lead shot.

	Here are the complete Colorado regulations: Only legal muzzleloaders are allowed during muzzleloader seasons; In-line muzzleloaders are legal; Must be a single barrel that fires a single conical projectile or round ball; For deer, antelope, and bear, a conical projectile must be at least .40 caliber and a round ball must be at least .50 caliber; For elk and moose, conical bullets must be at least .50 caliber and round balls must be at least .54 caliber; From .40 to .50 caliber, bullets or round balls must weigh at least 170 grains; If greater than .50 caliber, a bullet or round ball must weigh at least 210 grains; 209 Shotshell primers and B.O.R Lock MZ System bullets are legal; Pelletized powder systems are prohibited during muzzleloader seasons; and Cannot be loaded from the breech during muzzleloader seasons. Only open or iron sights are legal during muzzleloader seasons. Sights using fiber optics or fluorescent paints are legal. Scopes or sights using artificial light, batteries, and other electronics are prohibited during muzzleloader seasons. Sabots are prohibited during muzzleloader season. Cloth patches are not considered sabots. Bullet designs such as the Powerbelt are legal for use. Smokeless powder is prohibited during muzzleloader seasons. True black powder or black powder substitutes are legal. Electronic or battery-powered devices cannot be attached or incorporated into a muzzleloader during muzzleloader seasons.

	Percussion Sharps are allowed during primitive weapons season in NC. The criteria used is “no fixed ammunition” and once that’s established, the list opens to any cartridge gun that uses a percussion cap.

	And then there is Montana, sadly no dedicated muzzle loading season! Go figure? Archers rule here. So you can use what ever you want during rifle season. kw Montana
