Years ago I got a product called Kasenit but I think it just was for surface hardening although somebody did say it contained Cyanide and to be careful. Never got a chance to use it and it may still be in storage some place.

I've used Kasenit a number of times for small parts. Works just fine, but leaves a dull grey color, so really just suitable for small internal lock parts like tumblers and sears.  Did flintlock frizzens with it too.

I've seen some shades of grey colors supposedly gotten with Kasenit by bubbling air through the water quench with a small pump that I think was originally intended for an aquarium.
