I tend to agree with Old-Win if the grain would appear to be a close enough match before cutting it. The glue joint if done properly would be stronger than the wood and would be of no concern. Woods is to nice not to try re-purposing it if you can end up with the stock design you are after when all is said and done.

I have another lower tang and lever. I have not checked to see if the trigger will work in a standard tang, anyone know? The butt stock is set up for a draw bolt.

This is the maple jig I used in my vise to bend the tang back to original.

CPA took my benchrest forearm wood and ran thru their pattern machine, which turned it into the Schnabel forearm that am currently using. They set the wood a bit high in the machine, which then re-cut the barrel channel to the needed profile. Here are the "before" and "after" pic's.
