Great source for hickory loading rods

Some who are loading their cartridge rifles from the muzzle were looking for a good source of wood loading or ramrod ‘blanks’.  These are clearly superior!

Besides loving single-shots, I also build arms & muskets dating from the 1500s thru 1780s. Among named & noted (I am neither ... ) builders, Steve Bailey had served the custom muzzleloader builders for many, many years. Regretfully due to health reasons, he sold out to Dan Putz, who is also a bowyer and really knows grain and ‘wood’.

I’m please to state that Dan is an excellent choice! He bought out Steve Bailey and his contact info is here:

Contact him by calling Dan Putz at 573-768-6920.

After many, many years of shooting yew self-bows w/ footed cedar shaft arrows I made myself (flint knapped heads too!) I can ensure you that I know all about grain runout. On some ramrod blanks that I received from Dan ... I literally gave up looking for the grain runout! Amazing straightness and quality!

All of my single shots shoot one tiny ragged hole with cast bullets ... it's just the following shots that tend to open up my groups Wink ...
