I have a Stevens 45 I would like to have a small amount of engraving done but when I asked about pricing found it to be quite expensive so guess it will have to wait.
JMH

How much are you willing to spend? I've always set a budget and then contacted the engraver, giving them a broad outline of what I would like, but let them finalize the design. Have always ask for a border plus whatever they are willing to fit in above that for my budget. Have gotten three very nice receivers back. You can see the engraving on all in this thread:

Don't forget to add in annealing the receiver, as most engravers will require any case colored receiver to be annealed prior to engraving. I use a gunsmith who anneals mine for free if I'm going to have him do the color case also.

SSShooter.....

Can you recommend someone? Maybe if I talk to someone and get some advise on prices I can go from there.

Thanks

Don't think you'll get anywhere with Dale. He had a major stroke a year ago, and I haven't been able to get any reply from him via phone or email since. Haven't even been able to find anyone who can confirm his condition today.
