cost of re-lining a .22 LR barrel

Can anyone give me an idea of the cost of re-lining the barrel of a Steven's ?  A friend of mine has a "crack shot" or something like that with a shot out barrel. Does it even pay to fix it? I don't know the value of it.

Depends on the quality of liner used. The Redmans liner is button rifled while T.J.'s liners are hammer forged. Price for the liner can run from $35 to over $100, depending on length. With a liner from T.J.'s you only buy the length you need, it's sold by the inch. Installation price can very as well depending on fit and finish. Some smith use a piloted drill sold by Brownells which leave a loose fit. The liner is held in place with epoxi or  acra glass. If the fit is close enough then Loctite can be used. With a good fit the liner can be made not to show at the muzzle. Hard to say what other shops charge, my price for the Stevens mentioned would be $350 plus return shipping. This would include the price of the liner and in most cases I can hide it at the muzzle. The other option would be to make a new barrel but that would cost more.
There are a couple Crackshot barrels on e-bay, no telling if they are any good.

One of the best shooters at our range uses a Crackshot fitted with a barrel that was made for a Winchester 52.  Very accurate indeed.  How hard is it to rebarrel a Crackshot?

Like anything else you get what you pay for.

Barrel John Taylor re-lined for me is perfect in every way. It gave new life to a well worn rifle. You can't see any seam at the muzzle either. Only clue the rifle has been lined is perfect bore, worn exterior finish
