GEW.98 in 8.15x46R

Hello all and I am brand new to your forum... Smiley I have a GEW.98 in the 8.15x46R caliber.
I am wondering what modification a person has to do the follower to get the 8.15x46R round to feed out of the magazine..
I think I still have the 8mm follower in the rifle.

When my round comes out of the magazine and is pushed forward by the bolt the round takes a hard left into the side of the chamber..it will not feed a round into the chamber.

I see there is some fellows on here that shoot that round and maybe that rifle.

Any help would Wink be great..

Your rifle was intended for SS target shooting and was equipped with a wooden grooved piece to replace the 8mm follower.
You should slug your barrel as my rifle takes the older J bullet (.318") and not the modern JS bullet (.323").
