1837 brunswick barrel

I got for a project this winter an 1837 brunswick from IMA. was actually a pretty nice gun, missing some parts as expected, but I just glued and cleaned the wood. upon inspection, under the many layers of rust, the barrel is badly cracked around the Breach plug area. Now, I doubt I would ever shoot it, can put epoxy behind the nipple, and reassemble for a wall hanger. But if I ever did want to shoot it, has anyone ever exchanged barrels using one of there parts guns? I would assume thats quite a job not only for the barrel itsself, but for the hold downs welded on the barrel to line up since these are more hand made than standardized. any advise would be nice  Thanks

ps I have several of the bayonets, and none of them fits this barrel, I assume they were all custom fit too????

I have used IMA parts Guns for some of there Untouched rifle.. some parts Interchange, some don't . .  They will be the only One's who will have a Replacement Brunswick.
Generally all must be fitted ?

sounds like a crap shoot, moving the barrel hold downs would be hard, don't want to rein lett the brass for the retaining pins
