Relined 32/20 question

I relined a old Colt 32/20 rifle barrel, and the liner was about 1/2" shorter than the bore. The pilot on the drill went all the way through, and I left the liner shy thinking it would be like a recessed crown. What do you guys think? Should I trim and re crown or leave it the way it is? Thanks, John

I'd shoot it first and it fails your expectations then dress up the crown.

Did it shoot o.k.?  My suggestion is to check the concentricity of the bore to the muzzle recess if it doesn't shoot. Got a lathe, dial indicator and a small boring bar?  As my old boss said: "cut it once it was too short, cut it again it was still too short"  good luck!
