I have a rolling-block rifle that has the letters "N.A., NJ " on the action. Who made it?

And thanks for any info.

Numrich Arms , New Jersey (N.A. NJ) rebarreled, rebuilt Rollers back in the 60s with 45-70 and 444 marlin barrels.

I believe Numrich has always been in West Hurley, NY, not NJ.

I had one quite a few years back that was marked the same  but was a 30-30 Win. that was bought from Numrich back in the early 90's if i remember right. The action was made by Star (Spain)
and was not very good quality. The front sight was mounted with a single screw that was drilled through to the bore and the sight was shot off quickly.

Absolutely.  It's Navy Arms.

Indeed, my error.  Navy Arms NJ.
What had my thought was my first single shot back in 60s.
I rebarreled a 7mm Rem RB, with a Numrich supplied FTC
45-70 Octagon barrel. It was an excellent barrel. Shot very well. Long gone, tho.  I am just not a RB guy.

I ordered one of their .45-70 barrels from Numrich back in the 70's to put on a Trapdoor that had a butchered barrel. Thought a full octagon .45-70 would be neat. The price was fantastic, but the bore was centered on one end, and probably 1/8" off center on the other!! Sent it back, and got my money back as I didn't want a replacement from them!

I think they sent that barrel to me after they got it back from you. I had plans for a double ML on a "W. Richards" 12 gauge donor. I think it is still kicking around here somewhere.

I doubt they ever toss anything in the scrap bin! They just put them back on the shelf and hope eventually someone wont bother sending it back!
I have had several issues over the years with Numrich, and wont buy from them unless it's something I know is good, or I have no alternatives. I did get a bunch of the Remington factory leftover Rolling Block parts, including a custom shop stock set, and all were fantastic! But that's because they were Rem. built, and not Numrich stuff.

Yup,

Its a Navy Arms roller! They have pretty much closed the door, but VTI Gun Parts is taking care of replacement parts. I sent them an e-mail, but no answer yet.

Thanks to all for the replies,

Jim

Does anyone have a number for Dave Plumber, in So. Dakota. I saw him at the Quigley years ago and he had a lot of roller parts.

Dave moved to Baker, Or. a year or so ago. He can be reached here by pm to "ssdave". But he's building a house, so much of his parts are still in boxes, and might not be accessible until after the move.
