Hi all looking for a walker conversion and any other small parts for a Hepburn action.

thanks John I appreciate the link but I am looking for a walker conversion for a Remington Hepburn rifle. 

Here is one of the few "sort of looks like a Walker" rifles in use.

Tom Rowes' Hepburn book is invaluable.

chuckster that is a beautiful rifle and looks like it shoots as good as it looks. was it from a kit or machined from a block?
  If I can find the other conversion parts I may give forging the lever a try. worst comes to worst I can buy the parts from the rifle shop. just they don't have too many of them in stock and six to eight months wait for new ones.

very cool thread there Chuckster. Just scanned through it will go back and read it this evening.  Looks like my Walker conversion is going to have to wait for now. The rifle shoppe is out of parts and don't know when they are going to have more cast so I'm going to go ahead on the standard Hepburn build. I wish I was as good of a machinist as I am a forger I could possibly make my own conversion. You probably noticed my user name, Here is how I make my living.

I realize this would be nothing like forging the lever but I don't have any pictures of that kind of stuff I have done. anyway thanks for looking.

thanks Craig. never thought about just doing an under lever. I will have a look around the web and see if I can find some info. 
the blade on the knife is pattern welded steel. The blade and bolsters are a solid piece of the same bar. notice that the pattern on the bolster is the same as that of the blade just smaller? the blade was forged out in length and width so the"damascus" pattern didnt become distorted. It just got bigger.

Pounder, I was noticing the size difference, and wondered how in the devil you accomplished it. Once you describe the process it's simple to understand- though I'm certain it's far beyond my talent to do. You earned today's attaboy.
