A friend brought over a pristeen Remington # 4 late take down, asking my advice on what centerfire cal. to convert it to. I am trying to convence him to leave as is.
I tryed to pull it up but as usual the search function is useless. there was some discussion awhile back about useing 25 cal ramset loads and breechseating the bullets. If anyone remembers what I am talking about would you post or PM me.

I haven't shot any of these in a while but the .27 rounds did work for me. Sometimes had to use a ramrod to get the emptys out but accuracy was comparable to the factory ammo as I recall, but that's not saying a lot. Sure wish someone would start making it. As I recall the .17 HRM was based on a nail gun cartridge. Shouldn't be all that big a stretch.
