New CPA rifle questions ??

Just picked up my new CPA rifle today 6/6/15 in 32-40 . Several questions ? Having trouble removing the stock from the receiver, are there only the two wood screws holding it on ? Tight fit, do I need to take a rubber hammer to it ? Also some gun oil from the receiver has saturated the front of the stock, will laquer thinner remove the oil if I soak it for a couple of hours ? Thanks

congratulations on you 32-40.  You might need to tap the stock with a rubber mallet, make sure it does not have a thru bolt in the stock.  Have shot a 32-40 CPA for a number of yrs.  The accuracy is outstanding.  Breech seat a 200 gr, bullet over 14 grs. of 4227.  Enjoy.

Don't hit the top of the comb with a rubber hammer. Put the barrel in a padded vice and pull the butt stock straight back and off by hand it's suppossed to be tight! Don't worry about the oil just wipe any remaining off with a clean rag. Don't soak the pores of the end grain wood with any thing other than a good stock sealer.
