Will Shiloh barrels time up to C.Sharps?

Basically the question is if Shiloh actions are all the same such that typically barrels will interchange? And if Bseries C.sharps match up with Shilohs?

Thank you,
Charles

Charles they should be close, but you have to try them. They might need to be fit.A shooter at a range I go to put a Shiloh barrel on his Pedersoli and said it took minor work from his gunsmith to fit it.sent you a PM maybe others can give more input on this. Thanks,Bob  Smiley

The simple answer is..
a: maybe... Each Shiloh barrel is hand tightened during the initial fitting to each receiver, so literally, no two are absolutely the same. Rifle barrels fitted during the same "run" tend to all be very close. All can be made to work with a little lathe work.

b: not likely... Entirely different receivers made by entirely different companies. I'm not really sure that the C. Sharps rifles use the same thread dimensions...(Shiloh's use the same dimensions and TPI as the originals.)

I can say that I tried to screw a Shiloh barrel on an original 1874 and it was off by about 135 degrees. Sorta surprised me. Messed up my plan for getting my rifle shooting cheap. Cie' la guerre.

I have found The barrel shank's are the same, however retiming will probably be required.
fyi : Shank spec on a proper Sharps Side-hammer barrel is 1.127 Dia x .76 depth at 10sq TPI.
Timing requires removing the slightest material from the .76 shoulder depth.
That will effect the breech block - barrel clearance, also known as headspace requiring material removal from the back of the barrel. And require a reamer to sink the chamber back to depth so the cartridge will allow the block to close.
Of course you already checked extractor cut depth and it will retract back enough, otherwise, untorque.

I torque from 1100 to 1200 hrs. Then I take lunch. You ?

Considering the acrimony between the two when they split and became two competing companies I would doubt seriously that they would time up.
