Broke out a Tasco, 10x scope I've had for 40 years, put it on a rifle & when I tried to adjust the W & E they wouldn't budge. What do I do now??        ...MIKE...

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Had a similar issue a long time ago, and figured I didn't have much to lose. So I put a mixture of acetone and atf in a small pan, and blocked the scope up, so just the turret was in the mix while pointing down. I got one to move, so did an overnight soak of the other, and it too broke loose. Surprisingly I didn't get any oil mix inside the tube this way, and it stayed free afterwards.
