I thought some of you would like to see some pictures of this project I just completed. It's on its way to its new home tomorrow.

The action is an original Marlin with a new lever. Barrel is a Douglas premium, full octagon with tulip. American black walnut stock. Color case hardened action. Rust blued barrel. Vintage sights and Unertl blocks. Weight, 8&1/2 pounds.

Steve, wonderful job.  Did you do the case coloring too?  I'd be interested to know who did that part of it.

What caliber?  Or did I miss that?

Thank you.

I did the color case hardening. It's a .22LR.

Very nice, Steve! Do you CC in the shop or do it outside of work?

Where did you get the lever? I would love to have one.

I did a double take, Steve when I saw your beautiful rifle.  except for the scope blocks & tang sight, ( mine has dbl. set triggers)  it's a dead ringer for my own original No. 3 in .25-25 Stevens..pictured in Dutchers book.  Uncanny..even the feather crotch matches!

Thank you for all the compliments.

I do the color case hardening in house. The lever came from a no longer viable source. Sorry.

The client asked me to make the rifle look just like figure 12-6 on page 122 of Dutcher's book. This action had a single trigger so we stayed with that detail. I was able to find a blank that matched quite well.
