Looking for opinions on a Ballard Pacific in 40-63 Ballard.  I see, for the most part, the original groove was .410 with 20 twist.  The bore is not real good in this gun but I think I want to leave it with the original serial number matching barrel in 40-63.  So my option is a liner.  TJ shows .408grove liners in 14, 16, and 18 twist.
I guess I’m looking for opinions on what kind of issues I’m going to run into, if any, with a liner with the .408 groove?   My thought is 16 twist but looking for opinions here also.
Brass is not an issue as long as the original chambering will work with this liner.
Also, cost is not and issue since I do all my own work.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

For the .40-63 I'd choose the 16" twist or the 14", but I lean more towards the 16" twist as it will handle a bullet as heavy as you'll ever shoot in the .40-63EL cartridge.
The .408" groove wont hurt a thing as long as you load your cases with a bullet for that groove diameter. Easy to find .40-70SS die sets, and they'll work perfect to load for the .40-63.

Thanks Vall, just the confirmation I needed.

Although, I did not realize the 40-70ss dies would work.  This is a big help!
